Brittingham Construction is currently seeking a Construction Estimator to join our growing team! If you’re detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, we’d love to connect.

As a Construction Estimator, you’ll play a vital role in our pre-construction process by analyzing blueprints, performing takeoffs, and preparing competitive bid proposals. You’ll collaborate with project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure the success of each project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluating project plans, blueprints, and specifications 
• Calculating material, labor, equipment, and time requirements 
• Preparing detailed cost estimates and bid proposals 
• Working with contractors, engineers, architects, and suppliers 
• Identifying potential cost-saving strategies 
• Monitoring costs throughout the project to avoid overruns 
• Review architectural and engineering drawings 
• Perform takeoffs (quantity of materials needed) 
• Get quotes from vendors/subcontractors 
• Use estimating software (Planswift, ProEst, or Microsoft Excel) 
• Prepare and submit tender documentation or proposals 
• Track changes and update estimates as needed

Skills Required: 

• Strong math and analytical skills 
• Attention to detail 
• Good communication and negotiation abilities 
• Proficiency with estimating software 
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and codes 
• Time management and the ability to work under tight deadlines

Education & Experience: 

• Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field 
• Certifications in construction estimating can be a plus 
• 3-5 years of experience in construction estimating

Brittingham is looking for a motivated and skilled Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team. If you’re passionate about infrastructure, problem-solving, and bringing engineering solutions to the table, this could be the perfect fit.

As a civil engineer, you will be involved in designing, developing, and overseeing construction and infrastructure projects such as residential, industrial, commercial design, site development, and water systems. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and help insure project quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design and plan infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, buildings, water systems) 
• Analyze survey reports, maps, and other data 
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and work schedules 
• Ensure compliance with government regulations and safety standards 
• Supervise construction and maintenance of projects 
• Use design software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or STAAD Pro 
• Conduct soil testing, materials analysis, and structural evaluations 
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers

Skills Required: 

• Strong foundation in mathematics, physics, and materials science 
• Project management and leadership 
• Problem-solving and critical thinking  Communication and teamwork 
• Proficiency in CAD and civil engineering software 
• Understanding of building codes and environmental regulations

Education & Credentials: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory) 
• Experience in land development, transportation, and drainage systems
• Familiarity with permitting processes and local jurisdictional requirements 
• Professional licensure (e.g., PE license in the U.S.) 
• 3-5 years of experience in civil engineering or related field
